Review of the in-vitro evaluation of FCE 22101.

R Wise1, R C Ballard.

Abstract

FCE 22101 is a broad spectrum beta-lactam displaying bactericidal properties, stable to a wide range of clinically relevant beta-lactamases, and sharing with other beta-lactams a modest post-antibiotic effect and synergistic interactions with aminoglycosides. The ability to administer the drug by oral and parenteral routes suggests that it could be clinically useful.
