Abstract
The study of human megakaryocytopoiesis has grown tremendously in the past decade. Numerous advances and improvements in methodologies have contributed to a much enhanced understanding of the developmental biology of this platelet-producing cell. This chapter reviews these methodologies, discusses current concepts regarding the regulation of human megakaryocyte development, and alludes to the clinical significance of these advances in the field.Entities:
