Abstract
In critically ill patients, nonrespiratory (metabolic) alkalosis is the most common acid-base disturbance; it is caused by hypochloremia and/or by hypoproteinemia. Information on the concentration of plasma proteins should be included when evaluating acid-base status.Entities:
