Abstract
Leptomeningeal infiltration of the brain or spinal cord by neoplastic cells may occur as complication of solid or hematopoietic tumors such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Previously rare, this event is becoming increasingly common as newer therapies can prolong survival but may not achieve therapeutic concentration in the central nervous system. Although prognosis is poor, early diagnosis and aggressive treatment may lead to prolonged survival and/or improvement of quality of life. We report a case of a 69-year-old man with leptomeningeal infiltration by non-Hodgkin lymphoma revealed by F-FDG-PET/CT and confirmed by subsequent spinal MRI and cerebrospinal fluid cytology.Entities:
