Sir,This in response to the letter to the editor in reference to the article “Comment on: Quality of life and psychological morbidity in vitiligopatients: A study in a teaching hospital from North-East India.”[12]We appreciate the observation and comment made by esteemed reader. His opinion that our study is not a descriptive cross-sectional and case controlled study is valid. It is an oversight and we stand corrected. His view regarding a cohort study can be taken up by selecting a population of Vitiligopatient and following up till a time when some of them might develop impairment of quality of life and depression and study various contributing factors is well taken. But that will be an entirely different type of study altogether. Our study was simply a comparative study where we assessed the frequency and degree of impairment of the quality of life and level of depression in Vitiligopatients and compared the same with that of the nonvitiligo control group. The aim and objectives of our study are very different from the suggestions made by the reader. Various other comparative studies with similar aims and objectives have been conducted in the past.[3456]
