Abstract
An infant with diarrhea was discovered to have Vibrio fluvialis, an enteric pathogen not previously reported in children in the United States. This patient had an uncharacteristically mild clinical course and did not require hospitalization or antibiotics. Clinicians treating patients with diarrhea should include this organism in the differential diagnosis if their patients or patients' contacts have eaten seafood or been near bodies of seawater.Entities:
