BACKGROUND: Knowledge of patient's reasons for encounter is useful to inform health service planning and health professional education. Procedures are included in the A chapter. In this sample the most frequently cited chapters are A: General, R: Respiratory, L: Musculoskeletal. All chapters were cited at least once except F: Eye, H: Ear W: Pregnancy, Childbearing, Family Planning and X: Female Genital.
