RDD (Rosai Dorfman disease) is a rare and benign histiocytic proliferative disorder of unknown etiology. FNAC (Fine-needle aspiration cytology) is a useful and reliable tool for the diagnosis of RDD, and as such, biopsy is avoidable.Entities:

Figure 1(A) (×10) Histiocytes throughout the smear. (B) (×40) Histiocytes with vacuolated cytoplasm. (C) Histiocytes with multiple nuclei (arrows). (C-D) Emperipolesis. (E) halo around phagocytized cells.
Figure 2(A) Hematoxylin eosine staining (×20) revealed sinuses filled with numerous histiocytes containing viable cells in their cytoplasm (emperipolesis). (B) CD68 (×40), positive. (C) SP100(×40) positive (arrows).
