In glucoserich environments, proliferating CSCs primarily utilize aerobic glycolysis for their bioenergetics needs, while in glucose (and oxygen) deprived conditions, CSCs shift to a quiescent, slowcycling state relying on mitochondrial oxidative metabolism for their energy needs.
