Trichosporonosis.

T J Walsh1.

Abstract

Disseminated trichosporonosis due to Trichosporon beigelii is an uncommon but increasingly reported infection in immunocompromised patients. It often presents as fungemia, cutaneous lesions, pulmonary infiltrates, and azotemia. This systemic mycosis is often refractory to conventional antifungal therapy and is frequently fatal.
