Abstract
During a routine necropsy examination of a 4-year-old standardbred mare, a well-demarcated dermal mass was seen near the right elbow. Grossly, the mass consisted of multifocal variably sized areas of dark brown, firm material that was separated by thin white septa. Histologically, within the individual compartments, there were numerous multinucleated giant cells, macrophages, and free erythrocytes. A diagnosis of giant cell tumor of soft tissues was made.Entities:
