The effect of added protein on the interchain x-ray peak profile in egg lecithin.

Abstract

The effect of added protein on the phospholipid interchain peak profile has been measured. The results indicate that the basic organization of the bilayer is preserved, and that the added protein affects only the arrangement of the lipid hydrocarbon chains in the first few adjacent layers.
