[Use of porous ceramic implants in spinal surgery (preliminary report)].

J Kiwerski, M Krasuski.

Abstract

The preliminary results of the use of porous ceramic implants in 60 patients treated surgically for pathologic or traumatic changes in the spine have been presented. Good early radiological results were obtained in 82 per cent of the patients. The authors think that porous ceramic implants come up to expectations and should be widely used in surgery of the spine, especially in the operations aiming at spondylodesis.
