Abstract
Most pneumatoceles disappear spontaneously and do not cause severe symptoms. Treatment alternatives include various conventional or surgical methods. However, an enlarging, complicated pneumatocele with cardiorespiratory instability requires imaging-guided catheter drainage or surgery. Here, we report the case of a newborn girl with an enlarging pneumatocele accompanied by pulmonary interstitial emphysema secondary to mechanical ventilation. The pneumatocele was successfully managed by the injection of fibrin sealant via a pigtail catheter.Entities:
