Abstract
BACKGROUND: Microvascular decompression with retromastoid craniotomy carries an especially high risk of postoperative nausea and vomiting. In this study, we compare the antiemetic efficacy of ramosetron and ondansetron in patients undergoing microvascular decompression with retromastoid craniotomy.Entities:

Fig. 1Severity of nausea at PACU, at intervals of 1-6 hours, 6-24 hours and 24-48 hours after surgery. The severity of nausea was graded according to verbal 11-point rating scale scores (0 = no, 10 = worst): no (0), mild (1-3), moderate (4-6) and severe (7-10). P value was analyzed using Fisher's exact test. O: ondansetron group, R: ramosetron group, h: hours, mod: moderate, PACU: post anesthetic care unit.
