Abstract
Aberrant expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been linked to cancers. The MYC oncoprotein is a key contributor to the development of many human tumors. Recent studies have revealed that a number of lncRNAs originating from the human 8q24 locus previously known to corresponding to a 'gene desert' are transcribed and play important roles in MYC regulation. In this review, we highlight recent progress in how these lncRNAs participate in control of MYC levels in normal and tumor cells.Entities:
