Fig 2Case fatality rate of consecutive children (0–59 months) treated for pneumonia in district hospitals in Malawi, 2000–2003 by severity grade.
For ease of comparison the children were sorted by age and then divided into ten equal groups (deciles). Consequently each of the ten deciles contains an equal number of children.
Crude and adjusted odds ratios from logistic regression for mortality on management and comorbidity covariates adjusted for age, sex and severity grade of consecutive children (0–59 months) treated for pneumonia in district hospitals in Malawi, 2000–2003.
