Baseline characteristics
Data are given as median (range) or number (%) of participants; Young women were defined as women aged ≤40 years and middle-aged women were defined as women aged >40 years.
Public perception of "scarless" laparoendoscopic single-site surgery
Data are given as mean±standard deviation or number (%).
LESS, laparoendoscopic single-site surgery.
a)Body Image Scale, which measures the subject's perception and satisfaction with the general bodily appearance, includes 5 questions scored using a 4-point Likert scale as follows: 1=no, not at all; 2=a little; 3=quite a bit; 4=yes, extremely. Higher scores indicates a better body image; b)For calculation of the mean, categories were assigned the following values: 1=no, not at all; 2=a little; 3=quite a bit; 4=yes, extremely. Higher mean indices indicate higher interest or satisfaction with one's own appearance.
