Abstract
Endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is considered to be a highly beneficial and safe diagnostic tool. EUS-FNA now has a greater clinical impact because the technique is currently being applied for therapeutic as well as diagnostic purposes. The treatment of intra-peritoneal abscess after peptic ulcer perforation has traditionally been by surgery, especially when percutaneous abscess drainage is unfeasible. We report that less invasive drainage using EUS-FNA was useful in treating a patient with an abscess who had no other option but to select surgical treatment.Entities:
