Abstract
Ventricular free wall rupture is an infrequent complication after acute myocardial infarction. However, it carries a high mortality rate. More than moderate amount of pericardial effusion (≥10 mm) is associated with an increased risk of free wall rupture. Surgery is superior to conservative treatment. Recently sutureless techniques, avoiding cardiopulmonary bypass, demonstrated relatively good survival rates.Entities:
