Abstract
Outer membrane proteins of members of the family Enterobacteriaceae consist of conserved membrane-spanning segments and hypervariable, surface-exposed regions. We demonstrate that the hypervariable DNA segments corresponding to the surface-exposed regions of these proteins can be used to develop specific DNA probes for the identification of members of the family Enterobacteriaceae.Entities:
