Abstract
Volvulus of the cecum is a relatively insignificant cause of intestinal obstruction in the Western world, comprising <2 % of all cases. Cecal bascule is a related entity in which the cecum folds cephalad and anteromedially over the ascending colon, forming a 'flap-valve' occlusion in the transverse plane. We report a case of cecal bascule in a patient following pelvic surgery with emphasis on clinical presentation, radiologic findings and treatment.Entities:
