Treating dyslipidemia in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is associated with significant cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Diabetic dyslipidemia is a major cause of cardiovascular complications and a key area for intervention. The blood cholesterol treatment guideline released in 2013 and strategies to reduce cardiovascular risk are outlined and addressed in this article.
