BACKGROUND: Rates of medication non-adherence in dialysis patients are high, and improving adherence is likely to improve outcomes. Few data are available regarding factors associated with medication adherence in dialysis patients, and these data are needed to inform effective intervention strategies. METHODS/Entities:

| Medication knowledge | 4.3 (1.5) |
| Health literacya | 2.6 (1.3) |
| Beliefs about medication (BMQ) | |

aIncomplete data for 1 patient - excluded
bIncomplete data for 3 patients - excluded
For BIPQ cognitive dimension, two item subscales (E3 & E4) were reversed for scoring. For illness comprehensibility, one item subscale (E7) was reversed for scoring (Personal communication E. Broadbent 15 Jan 2015)
