Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Clinical manifestations of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection vary from mild to fulminant hepatic failure (FHF) in adults. We investigated the relationship between laboratory findings, including viral load, and clinical outcomes in patients with acute hepatitis A (AHA) and evaluated predictive factors for severe acute hepatitis (s-AH).Entities:

Fig 1Viral load showed a significant inverse correlation with serum peak PT levels (A, r = -0.453, P = 0.001) and a significant direct correlation with serum peak ALT (B, r = 0.417, P = 0.003).
