Abstract
A novel cyclovirus was identified in the intestinal contents of Taiwan squirrels (Callosciurus erythraeus thaiwanensis) collected in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan, by metagenomic analysis, and was named Taiwan squirrel cyclovirus-1 (TsCyV-1). Phylogenetic analysis showed that TsCyV-1 formed a branch separate from other representative cyclovirus strains. TsCyV-1 is considered to be a new species in the genus Cyclovirus because the criteria for demarcation of cyclovirus species is proposed as nucleotide identities <80 %.Entities:
