**When data was divided into low and high IL-6 stimulants, highly significant results (P < 0.001) were observed in the group of low IL-6 stimulants, like streptococci and P. gingivalis (see Figures 2 and 3).
Fold changes calculated using unstimulated cells as a reference. The data from different stimuli (streptococci, P. gingivalis, A. actinomytectemcomititans or TNFα) were pooled and median values presented with 25th and 75th interquartile ranges. P-values < 0.05 are presented. P-values < 0.001 in bold.
