Abstract
The effect of using either normal saline or 5% glucose solution, as fluid vehicle for oxytocin, on postpartum blood pressure was investigated in 138 parturient women. Blood pressure measurements were done at the commencement of infusion, immediately after delivery, at 1 hour and at 12 hours postpartum. There was no significant difference in the mean values of the mean arterial pressures or in the frequency of occurrence of postpartum hypertension between the two groups.Entities:
