Use of an AAPM (American Association of Physicists in Medicine) DSA phantom in quality assurance.

The performance of nine DSA units installed in Finnish hospitals was evaluated by means of an AAPM DSA phantom. The spatial resolution, low-contrast performance, contrast linearity, subtraction artifacts and radiation exposure were studied. The spatial and contrast resolution agree well with those published in the literature. No serious artifacts or false recording in subtraction images were noted.
