Abstract
The natural history of the pediatric HIV epidemic has changed since the introduction of strategies for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission and the implementation of highly active antiretroviral therapy. The demographic characteristics of the pediatric HIV-infected population and the incidence and pattern of HIV-related morbidity, as well as mortality rates, have been remarkably modified. This report gives an overview on the main changes that occurred in Western countries.Entities:
