Abstract
Synaptic responses are generally studied in the absence of spontaneous spiking, contrasting with the situation in the intact brain. A new study shows that even small increases in spontaneous network firing can significantly affect the properties and dynamics of excitatory evoked response in sensory neocortex.Mesh:
