Abstract
Over a 12-year period (1971-1983), 6868 prostatic biopsies were received and examined at the Department of Pathology, Geneva. 53 (0.77%) presented with non-caseous granulomatous prostatitis. This lesion was associated with nodular prostatic hyperplasia in 38 cases (71.5%) and with prostatic carcinoma in one case (2%), and occurred alone in 14 cases (26.5%). The histogenesis, clinical aspects, management and prognosis of this condition are discussed in the light of current literature.Entities:
