Dear Editor,The report on “dengue and rectus sheath hematoma” is very interesting.[1] Sharma et al. reported a case with this extremely rare complication of dengue and mentioned that there was only one previous publication on this dengue complication.[1] In fact, there are >1 previous report on this problem. The report by Ganeshwaran et al. is the first report addressing this important problem in dengue.[2] In that report from Sri Lanka, “tear in the inferior epigastric artery following episodes of retching” is mentioned to be the cause of bleeding in the reported dengue patient.[2] After this case report, there are a sporadic report on this problem. At least a recent additional case was published in Am J Emerg Med.[34] Tong et al. concluded that the abdominal mass, due to rectus sheath hematoma, was a forgotten presentation of dengue.[5]
