Abstract
Evidence-based medicine (EBM) plays an important role in intensive care. Along with the individual expertise of the attending physician and the preferences of the respective patient, recent study evidence is an important decision criterion when choosing the appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Both a target-orientated literature search and adequate evaluation of the risk of bias as well as interpretation of the depicted outcomes are necessary to be able to draw the right conclusions from study results. Furthermore, proper publication formats might facilitate the synopsis of the available evidence and support the implementation of this knowledge in routine clinical work.Entities:
