Abstract
Fast-scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) is a high-resolution technique used to investigate neurotransmission in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo. In this Viewpoint, I discuss how optogenetic and chemogenetic methods, when combined with FSCV, can impact and advance our understanding of neurotransmission and enable more detailed investigation of the roles of neurotransmitter systems in normal and disease states.Entities:
