Fig 1Location of the 48 sample sites in Qinghai province. The three plates in the corners of the map show the typical forest types.
(A) A 21-year-old planted forest (Larch) under rain-fed conditions in the eastern hilly region, (B) a 9-year-old planted shrubland (Hippophae rhamnoides) in the middle region, and (C) a 31-year-old planted forest (Populus bolleana) with irrigation in the west region.
