Abstract
Abernethy syndrome (congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt (CEPS II)) as an etiology of hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is uncommon. The severe hypoxemia and its consequences become incapacitating for the patient. Early shunt closure resolves hypoxemia and clinical symptomatology and prevents irreversible changes in pulmonary vasculature.Entities:
