Abstract
The reduction in porosity of a powder bed on compression was found to be a function of the velocity of the punch of the press. Substances which consolidated principally by fragmentation showed relatively little velocity dependence. However, the more important deformation was in a powder's consolidation mechanism, the greater the dependence on punch velocity and hence tablet press speed.Mesh:
