Abstract
Angina pectoris in the elderly is usually due to fixed coronary arteriosclerotic disease. Management includes the use of nitrates and beta- and calcium-blocking drugs. A combination of these drugs may be necessary in patients with severe symptoms. Each of these drugs has potential side effects. These drugs should be started in small dosages and gradually increased, determined by the patient's response. Angina with associated disease states should determine what specific drugs are selected.Entities:
