Sir,The report on “bladder dysfunction in women with type 2 diabetes mellitus” is very interesting.[1] Karoli et al. reported that “chronic complications of diabetes especially neuropathy, nephropathy, and presence of metabolic syndrome are important predictors of bladder dysfunction.[1]” The present report has some different observations compared to the previous report. Focusing on the risk factors, Fayyad et al. previously reported that “neuropathy and glycosylated hemoglobin are risk factors for voiding dysfunction.[2]” In that report, the neuropathy is not the risk factor. In another report from Taiwan, China, aging and recurrent urinary tract infections are only two factors that were relating to bladder dysfunction in patients with diabetes mellitus.[3] Of interest, in the report by Karoli et al.[1] those factors are not well assessed.
