Abstract
Although axon guidance mechanisms are well conserved across the animal kingdom, neuronal circuit complexity increases dramatically in evolution. Reporting recently in Neuron, Zelina et al. (2014) uncover mammalian-specific changes in Robo3 that result in a switch from repellent to attractive signaling and may have contributed to increased mammalian circuit complexity.Entities:
