Abstract

The gene for the human muscle-specific phosphoglycerate mutase, PGAM2, has been mapped to chromosome 7 using the polymerase chain reaction to specifically amplify the human PGAM2 sequence in rodent/human hybrid DNA. This assignment shows that the PGAM2 is not syntenic with the nonmuscle form of PGAM1 (B) which has been located to chromosome 10.
