Abstract
Duodenal lymphocytosis is a nonspecific finding that is being detected with heightened frequency. Although increased intraepithelial lymphocytosis with normal villous architecture classically corresponds to grade 1 of the Marsh classification, many other conditions have been reported to be associated with this histologic pattern. In this article, we offer a broad review of the associations of isolated increased intraepithelial lymphocytosis with celiac and nonceliac gluten sensitivity, as well as of the broadening nonceliac etiologies.Entities:
