Abstract
Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) often reveals prominent outer retinal changes after macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Two patients who presented with macula-off retinal detachment underwent surgical repair. Initial postoperative visual acuity was 20/200 in both cases and correlated with a disruption of the central inner segment ellipsoid layer on SD-OCT. On extended follow-up, SD-OCT demonstrated restoration of the inner segment ellipsoid layer in both patients with concurrent improved visual acuity. Copyright 2015, SLACK Incorporated.Entities:
