Abstract
The renal Na/H antiporter is involved in cell pH regulation and, predominantly in the proximal tubule, also mediates transcellular NaCl and NaHCO3 transport. The transporter is regulated by systemic acid-base factors and hormones such as angiotensin II, PTH, glucocorticoids and alpha2-adrenergics. The human gene of the Na/H antiporter has been cloned and sequenced recently.Entities:
