Abstract
The Escherichia coli rho-15 mutant, which is highly defective in transcription termination, was examined to see whether its reduced DNA superhelicity could be explained by altered expression of proteins that may affect DNA structure. Levels of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase I were normal; levels of single-stranded-DNA-binding protein, DNA polymerase I, and a protein tentatively identified as Lon were significantly altered.Entities:
