Abstract
Preoperative CT and MRI studies of 24 patients with space-occupying lesions of the pineal region were analysed. MRI demonstrated all 24 lesions, whereas CT could detect only 20 out of 24. MRI was superior to CT in assessment of size, localisation and relation to adjacent structures. No significant difference was found between CT and MRI in preoperative prediction of tumour histology.Entities:
