Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma.

H G Kwee1.

Abstract

Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma is a primary malignant tumor of the liver that usually affects adolescents and young adults. If detected early, this cancer is frequently resectable, with a much longer survival time than in classic hepatocellular carcinoma. Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma has distinct radiographic and pathologic features. Serum unsaturated vitamin B12 binding capacity and plasma neurotensin may be used as tumor markers.
