Abstract
A 24-year-old man with no significant medical history was admitted to this hospital because of an acute exanthema, myalgia and malaise. A fourth-generation screening test for HIV was reactive but the following confirmation test was not. Although the patient did not belong to a high risk group, we decided to perform a HIV-RNA-PCR. The result showed a high virus load so that we finally diagnosed a primary HIV infection.Entities:
