The lower island flap transposition (LIFT) technique for control of the upper pole in circumvertical mastopexy.

Dennis C Hammond1, Elizabeth A O'Connor.

Abstract

SUMMARY: Traditional mastopexy patterns may ineffectively address deflation of the upper pole of the breast. Technical modifications have been described using local autologous tissue rearrangement to correct this deformity with varying success. The authors describe a technique of circumvertical mastopexy with autoaugmentation of the upper pole using a lower island flap transposition to provide for effective correction of the deflated upper pole in the mastopexy patient.
